Guest V. Lynn Whitfield

The thing about white privilege is that white people don’t see it.  “White privilege” doesn’t mean your life hasn’t been hard, it simply means that your skin color isn’t one of the things making it harder.
This series is meant to share experiences of real people who have experienced racism and still experience it. The goal is to shine a light so that we ALL see it and take actionable steps to do something about it.

A graduate of University of Miami School of Law, Attorney V. Lynn Whitfield has been practicing law in the South Florida area for appropriately 40 years.  She started her legal career as an assistant state attorney.  She relocated to Palm Beach County in 1985, and began working for the Public Defender for Palm Beach County.  

She then served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of West Palm Beach.  After seven years, she opened her own practice specializing in criminal defense and municipal law.  

She has been the City Attorney for both  North Miami and Hallandale Beach.  In addition, she has appeared as a legal commentator for Channel 25- WPBF, the ABC affiliate, in West Palm Beach.  She has lectured to national, state and local organizations.  She has been honored by numerous national, state and local organizations for community and professional services. She is currently working on pivoting from a practicing attorney to a trial advocacy coach and a life coach for attorneys dealing with the stress of the profession. VLW Enterprise Inc. P.O.
